The Secret Order 5: The Buried Kingdom – enter the dragon

The Buried Kingdom is the fifth instalment of The Secret Order series, continuing the narrative of its protagonist, Sarah Pennington. Rather than having to travel back in time, however, Sarah's journey is a mythical one, during which she must save her friend from the claws of a sinister dragon clan.

Plenty of hidden objects, less adventure

Those that are partial to playing hidden object adventure puzzles are likely to be disappointed by The Buried Kingdom. Although there are plenty of puzzles, the game is very thin in terms of the adventure part: the plot of the game is very simplistic, and chapters are often hastily tied together, often making it difficult to work out how they are connected. The point and click puzzles are numerous but often repetitive.

An uninspiring fantasy HOG

The Buried Kingdom is very short and can be completed within roughly four hours. However, given that previous The Secret Order chapters are interwoven in terms of plot, it is a decent standalone title which is likely to appeal to general fans of hidden object games. While it is somewhat lacking in terms of story, it certainly makes up for this with its lush graphics.

PROS

  • Gorgeous visuals.
  • First-rate voice acting.

CONS

  • Puzzles are somewhat repetitive.
  • Main game is rather short.
